After a root canal
Avoid chewing hard food on the tooth until the crown is fitted. Mild soreness for two to three days is normal. Call us if swelling appears.
After a tooth extraction or wisdom tooth surgery
Bite on the gauze for 45 minutes. No spitting, rinsing, straws or smoking for 24 hours. Eat soft, cool food. From day two, rinse gently with warm salt water.
After dental implant surgery
Use an ice pack in the first few hours, take medicines as prescribed, avoid chewing on the implant side, and keep the area clean with the prescribed rinse.
After fillings
Tooth-coloured fillings are hard immediately. Wait until numbness wears off before eating so you don't bite your cheek.
With braces
Avoid hard, sticky and chewy food. Brush after meals with an orthodontic brush. Use wax on any wire that rubs.
After scaling and polishing
Mild sensitivity for a day or two is normal. Keep brushing twice and floss daily.
